So I've been a fan of Holly Miranda since her days in The Jealous Girlfriends, and I was jumping balls when she started releasing solo material which are beyond anything she's put out with TJG. It's a move away from simply just rock to a sound that's dreamy, ethereal, and with a hint of jazz. Not to mention, her voice is amazing. Think of Fiest, Cat Power and Norah Jones all rolled up into one. Think of the female counterpart to Jeff Buckley. Think of those, and you've barely scratched the surface of what and who Holly Miranda is. Her album The Magician's Private Library, produced by Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio, is due out on February 23, 2010, and all I can say is: GO FUCKING GET IT.Holly Miranda :: Joints
